Nollywood actress Blessing Onwukwe, who featured in the recent hit film Monica 2 produced by Uche Montana, has opened up about the highest amount she has ever been paid for a movie role.
The film gained massive attention online after it recorded over 6 million views within 24 hours of its release on YouTube, making it one of the platform’s standout Nollywood releases.
In a recent interview with Yanga FM, Blessing Onwukwe revealed that she earned over one million naira for her role in Monica 2, describing it as the highest paycheck she has received in her acting career so far.
When asked if it was her most lucrative project, she explained:
“When it has to do with series, it is bulk money. This is a film, a YouTube film, but in bulk, as in one-time payment, you could say that.”
She also shared more details about the production, noting that Monia 2 was shot within seven days, while the first part, Monia 1, was completed in five days.
According to her, the movie explores themes such as responsibility, family pressure, and societal expectations, with her portraying the role of a strict mother.
