Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has reacted after a video of his interaction with Gov. Seyi Makinde ignited heated discussions online.
The comedian became a trending topic when a clip surfaced showing security operatives holding him back as he tried to approach the governor of Ogun State.
The incident occurred on Saturday, May 2, 2026, during the traditional wedding ceremony of Sola Sobowale’s daughter.
In the now-viral footage, security personnel around the governor were seen preventing Seyi Law from getting close, a moment that quickly drew mixed reactions from social media users.
Seyi Law responds
Addressing the situation, Seyi Law took to his X account where he posted a longer video capturing his meeting with the governor.
In the clip, both men were seen exchanging greetings, offering a different perspective from the earlier circulating footage.
The comedian, who is known to support Bola Tinubu, also alleged that the initial clip was deliberately shared to push a negative narrative against him.
He pushed back at critics, insisting that the full video provides better context of what truly happened.
Posting a counter-footage, he wrote:
“This same Gov. Seyi Makinde that spoke with me. I am not asking you to like me, but cutting a video to push an agenda is stupid sha.”
