A video showing the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, popularly known as Daddy GO, has gone viral following his appearance at a thanksgiving service held for former Ogun State governor Gbenga Daniel on Monday, April 6, 2026.
In the clip, the cleric was seen moving from the altar towards the pulpit, assisted by his son, Leke Adeboye, at the Abraham Tabernacle in Sagamu, Ogun State.
What drew the most attention online was a moment where Pastor Adeboye appeared to bow, a gesture many interpreted as showing respect for the tradition and sanctity of the church hosting the thanksgiving service.
According to PUNCH, during his ministration, Adeboye described Gbenga Daniel as “quite an exceptional politician and original Omoluwabi.”
The event also had several prominent personalities in attendance, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who was represented by his wife, Bola Obasanjo, alongside Ademola Adeleke, the Olubadan of Ibadan, and Rasheed Ladoja.
Following the circulation of the video, reactions poured in online, with some social media users alleging that the RCCG leader bowed to a statue of Jesus Christ positioned inside the church, a claim that sparked criticism and debate.
