Nigerian singer-songwriter Asa has announced the passing of her mother following a battle with a brain tumor.
The emotional revelation was made in a heartfelt Facebook post, where the singer expressed deep sorrow while paying tribute to the woman she described as her greatest source of strength and inspiration.

She reflected on her mother’s personality, highlighting her kindness, warmth, and unwavering support throughout her life and career.
In her tribute, Asa wrote:
“My mother, my reason to be, my queen, my everything. A sudden brain tumor came without warning and took you too soon. You were generous. The kindest soul. You had your own quiet swag, you were extremely shy, and so funny.”
She continued,
“My biggest fan. You couldn’t hold a note to save your life, but you sang every one of my songs with your whole heart. Your strength, your love, your spirit will remain with me forever. Rest now, Mum.”
The touching message has since drawn an outpouring of sympathy from fans and colleagues, including Tiwa Savage and Johnny Drille, who joined others in sending condolences.
