Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo has reacted to the ongoing debate over the careers and legacies of two of Nigeria’s respected acting veterans, his father Adebayo Salami, popularly called Oga Bello, and Pete Edochie.
The actor addressed the controversy on his X account on Monday, September 7, 2026, as discussions surrounding the two legendary actors continued to generate reactions online.
The debate gained fresh momentum after Pete Edochie made recent remarks about his position and achievements within Nigeria’s film industry.
Femi Adebayo Calls for Respect
Rather than encourage the rivalry between supporters of both actors, Femi appealed to Nigerians to recognise the contributions of the two veterans independently.
He stressed that his father’s accomplishments should be appreciated based on his own career and impact, rather than measured against another actor.
Femi also acknowledged Pete Edochie’s significance in the Nigerian and African film industry, while suggesting that both men have earned their places in the history of African cinema.
In his message, the actor wrote:
“Ahbeg ooo, give respect to everyone who duly and truly deserves it,”
