The ongoing P-Square family dispute has taken another turn after Tony, reported to be the eldest brother of the Okoye siblings, reacted to claims circulating on social media about Jude Okoye’s involvement in the affairs of the iconic music duo.
The latest development followed an exchange on Instagram involving a social media user who made several claims about Jude’s role in P-Square’s career and finances.
The controversy surrounding the Okoye brothers has persisted for years, with Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, and his twin brother Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy, having had a turbulent relationship that has included public disagreements, separation and reconciliation.
Peter had previously made allegations concerning the handling of revenue generated from the P-Square music catalogue.
Among the claims was an allegation that Jude secretly established a company through which funds belonging to the group were allegedly diverted. Jude has repeatedly denied the allegations.
Amid the renewed discussion, an Instagram user identified as @gaintsammy alleged that Jude received more than 40 per cent of P-Square’s earnings despite not being a performing member of the group.
The same social media user also claimed that Tony was once involved with P-Square’s dance crew before eventually moving into acting.
Tony, however, appeared to challenge parts of the narrative in a response that has since generated attention online.
In the exchange, Tony disputed the claim that Jude served as P-Square’s manager, stating that another person, Hawwie T, occupied that role at the time.
His response has added another dimension to the long-running debate over the respective roles played by members of the Okoye family and other individuals during P-Square’s rise to prominence.
The latest development comes as conversations surrounding the former music duo continue to attract attention, particularly over allegations concerning their finances, management and the circumstances surrounding their repeated fallouts.
Peter and Paul Okoye rose to become one of Africa’s most successful music duos before their relationship became strained and eventually led to their separation.
