An emotional scene from the funeral ceremony of late NURTW secretary Toba Ijaya has continued to attract attention online after his daughter delivered a heartfelt tribute in his honour, leaving mourners visibly emotional.
The burial ceremony was held as family members, friends, and sympathisers gathered to pay their final respects. A video posted on Instagram on Tuesday, 22 July 2026, showed the deceased’s daughter standing before mourners and speaking about her late father.
As she addressed those present, the young woman found it difficult to conceal her emotions. She repeatedly paused during her tribute, appearing to fight back tears before gathering herself and continuing with her speech.
“Thank you, everyone, for being here to celebrate the life of my father. Being here today is the hardest thing to do. Our love for each other remains constant. There are so many memories and conversations I will cherish forever. No words can express how I feel.”
Reflecting on the relationship she shared with her father, she spoke about his character and the qualities she experienced during their personal interactions.
According to her, his patience was evident in the way he handled every conversation they had. “Every conversation reflected his patience, and he treats me the same way,” she added.
The emotional footage soon spread across social media, attracting reactions from viewers who were deeply affected by the daughter’s tribute and the grief evident in her words.
