Businesswoman Mabel Makun has sparked conversations online following a cryptic message she posted on her Instagram story on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
In the post, Mabel suggested that choosing to remain silent should not be interpreted as having nothing meaningful or valid to say.
Sharing her thoughts via Instagram shortly after the burial of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo in Abia state, Mabel wrote:
“Never to put a question where God has put a full stop. Rest easy one of the most caring human ever.”
In a separate post, she further explained that her silence should not be mistaken for an inability to respond.
“Mama Dee always seeks God’s guidance and take care of yourself, no response needed. Truth be say, I get response but I no just know where to start from, hence the silence and withdrawal.”

It will be recalled that Mabel and her estranged husband, comedian AY, got married in 2008. The former couple publicly announced their separation in April 2024.
Following the breakup, reports indicated that Mabel Makun attracted public attention when she dropped her married surname and returned to her maiden name, Nwanegbu, in 2024.
Her recent post generated mixed reactions from social media users, many of whom shared their opinions in the comment section.
