The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has come under heavy criticism over his recent comments regarding the fast-approaching 2027 presidential election.
In a viral video showing a portion of his recent sermon, the popular Nigerian cleric revealed a conversation he had with some of his children about the next presidential election.
According to him, they asked what would happen in the 2027 election amid the growing tension and dissatisfaction among many Nigerians.
Responding to the question, Pastor Adeboye said that whatever would happen in 2027 had already been settled before the world began. He explained that God would not be deliberating over who should lead Nigeria in 2027 because the outcome had already been determined.
He said:
“I was telling some of my children who are close to me when they asked me what is going to happen in 2027. I said whatever is going to happen in 2027 has been settled before the world began.
You would be stupid to think that the Almighty God is sitting in heaven, scratching his mighty head with his everlasting hand, saying by the way who should rule Nigeria in 2027. It has been settled before the world began.”
After the video was shared on TikTok, several netizens criticized the Nigerian pastor, expressing their dissatisfaction with his remarks. Some also described him as an “APC pastor,” suggesting that he was avoiding direct criticism of the shortcomings of the current administration.
