Movie star, Patrick Doyle has been thrown into mourning after losing his newborn daughter just hours after joyfully announcing her birth.
The veteran actor, who remarried a few years ago and often shares updates about his family life, had earlier revealed that he welcomed a baby girl with his wife.
He introduced the child as Omayinuwa Mayen Harriet Doyle, noting that she was born on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 10:40 am, a development that drew congratulatory messages from fans and well-wishers.
Sadly, the celebration was short-lived. By the evening of April 11, the actor disclosed that the baby had passed away at about 4:15 pm.
Sharing his grief on Facebook, Doyle posted an image symbolising his loss and wrote that “his angel had flown back to heaven.”
He expressed his wish that his daughter had stayed longer but admitted that events unfolded differently.
Despite the painful loss, he leaned on his faith, stating that God understands what humans cannot and remains in control of all situations.
He added that his trust in God’s goodness remains unshaken, even in the face of the tragedy.
In his words:
“Omayinuwa visited us briefly at about 10:40 am on Friday 10th April and returned to heaven on Saturday 11th of April at about 4:15 pm. Her stay was short but it brought great joy with it. We would wished for a longer stay, but alas heaven thought otherwise.
This much we know though, God still rules in the affairs of men. Our faith in the goodness of God remains resolute regardless.
