Fast-rising Nollywood actress, Sharon Ifedi has addressed misconceptions about her being banned or sacked from acting in movies in the industry.
The rumours arose from netizens amid her perceived absence in movies compared to previous times.
In a video shared on her TikTok handle, the movie star cleared the air regarding the erroneous speculations, noting that she wasn’t banned.
Sharon Ifedi explained that the issue arises from the fact that Asaba movie producers are experiencing difficult times with YouTube with little earnings flowing in which makes it difficult for them to profit from their movie projects.
She noted that only those who are quite grounded and can afford to shoot with or without profit are currently filming.
Sharon Ifedi further compared Nollywood actors’ patterns to those of Hollywood as she emphasised that an actor isn’t supposed to be onscreen every time.
According to her, when some Hollywood actors feature in a movie, it can take about 2 years to see them star in another film but the case is different in Nollywood where an actor can shoot about 5 movies in one month.
Sharon Ifedi further slammed some group of individuals whom she referred to as hypocrites, noting that they’re currently lamenting her inactiveness onscreen, while they are still the same people who terribly criticise Asaba movies.
She described people like this as two-faced individuals, noting that their actions really hurt her heart.
Captioning the clip, she wrote:
“People keep asking why I’m not acting again”
