The founder of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, moved members of his congregation to tears during an emotional moment at a recent Sunday service.
In a video that has since gone viral online, the clergyman was seen holding a woman affectionately by the hand as he introduced her to worshippers.
According to him, the woman played a pivotal role in his life by raising him and sponsoring his education during some of his most difficult years.
Speaking to the congregation, Pastor Eze explained that the woman stepped into his life when his family could no longer afford to keep him in school. He revealed that she supported him financially from his senior secondary school days all the way through university.
The pastor tearfully recounted that there was a period when his biological mother could no longer continue paying his school fees. Faced with the situation, she advised him to learn a trade such as tailoring or mechanics so he could survive.
Following her advice, he initially considered becoming a tailor. However, his life later took a different direction after he went to church later that day.
Pastor Eze narrated that during one church service, while he was reading the Bible, a lecturer identified as Ursula Akanwa approached him with a life-changing message.
She reportedly told him that God had instructed her to take responsibility for his education and send him back to school.
The development led to a conversation between Professor Akanwa, her husband, and Pastor Eze’s mother. After prayers and careful consideration, his mother eventually agreed to release him into the care of the couple.
From that point on, Pastor Eze lived with Professor Akanwa and her family from Junior Secondary School 3 until he completed university.
He revealed that during those years he lacked nothing, as the couple fully sponsored his education and provided him with everything he needed.
According to him, their influence greatly shaped his life and future, including helping him improve his command of the English language.
During the emotional service, Pastor Eze embraced the woman warmly while expressing gratitude for her sacrifices and support.
Overwhelmed by the moment, the woman knelt down as they hugged each other tightly.
