A former lecturer at Covenant University has stirred reactions online after revealing the salary he reportedly earned while working at the institution despite holding a PhD.
The man shared his experience on social media, where he posted a copy of his payslip as evidence of the amount he received during his time as a lecturer.
His post indicated that he no longer works at the university, as he referred to the institution in the past tense.
The man, identified online as Engrbimmy, expressed shock after revisiting the document.
“I looked at my payslip (with Ph.D) from when I was a Lecturer at Covenant University, and I started crying,” he wrote.
He further revealed that his monthly earnings at the time were N133,000 despite his academic qualifications.
“Man was legit earning 133k WITH A Ph.D.”
His claim quickly gained attention online, with many social media users expressing disbelief at the amount he mentioned.
A user, identified as @MrPharm_, asked him to clarify the year the salary was paid.
In response, the former lecturer shared additional proof, including a PayPal record, to support his claim. According to the evidence he posted, the payment was made in January 2024.
