A disturbing incident has been reported in Medina, Saudi Arabia, where a pilgrim was arrested after allegedly attempting to kill his sick father inside the Prophet’s Mosque.
The shocking event, which reportedly occurred in February 2026, has drawn widespread concern due to its tragic and unusual circumstances.
According to reports, the man was seen trying to strangle his ill father within the mosque premises.
A video circulating online captured the moment, showing the suspect holding his father by the neck while bystanders snd security agents quickly intervened to stop the attack.
Witnesses at the scene acted swiftly, preventing what could have resulted in a fatal outcome.
Following the intervention, security officials were alerted, and the suspect was immediately apprehended by authorities. He was subsequently taken into custody for questioning and further investigation.
During interrogation, the pilgrim reportedly confessed that he believed his actions would grant his father entry into paradise.
He claimed that if his father died within the holy mosque, it would ensure a guaranteed place for him in the afterlife. This belief is said to have motivated the attempted act.
Authorities in Saudi Arabia have since detained the suspect as investigations continue into the incident.
