Veteran actress, Eucharia Anunobi has ignited reactions online after a video captured the respectful moment she greeted veteran actress Joke Silva at an industry event.
The actresses met during an event organised by the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in celebration of entertainers and movie practitioners in the Nigerian film industry.
In the viral clip making the rounds online, Eucharia Anunobi was seen heading toward her seat when she noticed Joke Silva sitting some distance away.
The actress immediately changed direction and walked over to greet the veteran movie star.
While approaching Silva, Anunobi briefly stopped to acknowledge another guest and informed the person she would return shortly before continuing to meet the senior actress.
On getting to Joke Silva, the actress and evangelist went down on her knees as they exchanged greetings, a gesture that drew admiration from many social media users.
While still kneeling, Anunobi was also heard asking about the well-being of Joke Silva’s husband, veteran actor Olu Jacobs.
The moment became more emotional as Joke Silva smiled warmly and repeatedly asked Anunobi to stand up. She was also seen assisting her colleague to rise while they continued their conversation for a few minutes.
The video has since generated reactions online, with many fans praising Eucharia Anunobi for displaying humility and respect toward her senior colleague despite her status in the movie industry.
Several social media users also compared the moment to a recent incident involving actresses Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele, where Toyin Abraham faced criticism after she was seen kneeling to greet Funke Akindele.
Some fans argued that younger actors and actresses, especially members of Gen Z, could learn from the respectful interaction between Eucharia Anunobi and Joke Silva.
