Francis Adekunle Osinloye, son-in-law to renowned Nollywood actress Sola Sobowale, has stirred reactions on social media following what many described as an unusually subdued demeanor at his recent traditional wedding.
On May 2, 2026, an elegant traditional wedding ceremony was held in Ibadan, where Francis Osinloye tied the knot with Mide, Sola Sobowale’s daughter.
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Osun State Governor Seyi Makinde, Seyi Law, Femi Adebayo, and Kunle Afolayan, all of whom showed their support for the couple.
However, the major talking point from the ceremony was the groom’s perceived mood. Videos and photos from the event captured him appearing reserved and rarely showing excitement, which quickly drew attention online.
An X user, @Nimisioluwa, suggested that his demeanor might be linked to a personal loss.
According to the user, the groom reportedly lost his mother on Christmas Day last year, which could explain his subdued appearance during the celebration.
She wrote:
“Sola Sobowale’s daughter’s wedding is sparking a lot of controversy because of the way her husband was behaving in the videos and pictures. I heard the husband lost his mother last year and they had to move the wedding to this year.
He is probably still thinking about it, but that doesn’t mean he should behave like that on his wedding day. All the videos of them together seems off and unhappy 💔💔.”

I was watching the wedding of actress Sola Sobowale’s daughter, and the groom’s vibe is somehow off to me. In one of the videos, they were about to take a photo with Governor Seyi Makinde, and when the bride tried to stand in the middle, the groom shook his head and pushed her… pic.twitter.com/gXLAKezEmM

The couple reportedly got married overseas in 2024 but only recently held their traditional wedding in Nigeria.
