University of Ibadan has released a report detailing the salary structure of its academic staff, including lecturers, librarians and professors.
The move is aimed at promoting transparency and maintaining a stable academic environment within the institution.
The university, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s leading institutions for producing graduates and future leaders, outlined the salary ranges for different academic ranks on its official platform.
According to the report, entry-level academic staff such as Assistant Lecturers, Arts Fellows II and Librarian II fall under the Consolidated University Academic Salary Structure II (CONUASS 2). Workers in this category earn between ₦794,260 and ₦957,402 annually.
Lecturer II and Research Fellow II positions fall under CONUASS 3, with salaries ranging from ₦897,501 to ₦1,074,314 per year.
For Lecturer I and Research Fellow I, the pay structure is placed under CONUASS 4. Staff in this category earn between ₦1,122,751 and ₦1,444,535 annually.
Senior Lecturers receive higher earnings under CONUASS 5, with salaries ranging from ₦1,653,415 to ₦2,348,299 each year.
The position of Reader, which is a higher academic rank, falls under CONUASS 6. Academics at this level earn between ₦2,053,124 and ₦2,684,096 annually.
At the top of the academic ladder are Professors, who fall under CONUASS 7. Their annual salaries range from ₦2,485,099 to ₦3,209,140.
