A wave of emotions surrounded a recent video in which the sister of late singer Destiny Boy publicly addressed the circumstances of his death and the rumours trailing it.
In the video, she appeared visibly sorrowful as she dismissed widespread claims suggesting that her brother died at an herbalist’s residence or was involved in money rituals.
According to her, the narratives being circulated on social media are false and deeply hurtful to the family.

She cautioned those spreading such stories to show restraint and empathy, stressing that false reports have consequences, especially for a grieving family. She appealed to moral conscience, urging the public to consider the pain of a mother who has lost her child.
She further clarified that Destiny Boy, whose real name is Afeez, was very young and undeserving of the circumstances surrounding his death and the controversy that followed. Addressing speculations about his alleged Ifa initiation, she explained that it had no connection to ritual practices, countering insinuations linking it to illicit activities.
The singer’s sister alleged that Destiny Boy was poisoned, expressing hope that whoever was responsible would not escape the weight of their actions.
Her emotional outburst has intensified conversations online, with many fans expressing sympathy.
