A Nigerian man has reportedly ended his engagement after discovering unexpected details on his fiancée’s ChatGPT history.
The incident was shared by a lady identified as @elmas.living, who claimed the woman involved is her friend.
In a TikTok video, she narrated how the relationship, which had lasted seven years, came to an abrupt end following the discovery.
According to her, the fiancée frequently used ChatGPT to ask everyday questions, ranging from food choices to health concerns.
She said:
“My friend lost her relationship of 7 years all because of ChatGPT.”
“This isn’t even her boyfriend, it’s her fiancé now because they’ve been engaged since November last year. My friend, I’m not going to judge her, neither am I going to support her. What she did was actually wrong, but she’s my friend.”
She further explained that her friend regularly asked the AI questions like what to eat or how to handle minor health issues but never realised the chats were saved.
She added:
“She’s the kind of person that used to ask ChatGPT, ‘what do you think I should eat?’, ‘I’m feeling a headache, what should I do?”
“I’m not saying ChatGPT is bad, I also use ChatGPT, but me, I always clear my ChatGPT history because I don’t want issues, I don’t want wahala. But she doesn’t know that ChatGPT has history to clear.”
Trouble reportedly started when the fiancé picked up her phone and stumbled on her chat history while searching for something.
He allegedly found queries that raised serious concerns, including:
“How can I stop cheating on my fiancé?”
The situation worsened after he reportedly saw another message:
“I’m pregnant, what do you think I should do?”
The narrator added that the man claimed he was unaware of any pregnancy, which led him to believe the child was not his, prompting him to call off the engagement.
“Mind you, the boy said she never told him she was pregnant, so that means the baby was not for him, and he called off the engagement.”
The story has since gone viral, with many social media users sharing mixed reactions over the situation.
