Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has reacted to an erroneously circulated AI-generated video of her sharing a kiss with a man.
The video was created from a trending photo that showed her tightly hugging the man at her son, Andre’s, 10th birthday celebration.
As the photo circulated online, numerous netizens wrongly concluded that the man in the photo was Tonto Dikeh’s ex-husband, Churchill and this sparked a barrage of comments online.
Controversial IG blog, Gistlovers further fueled the wrong narrative by sharing an AI-generated video (made from the photo) showing the moment Tonto Dikeh and the man who was now made to look like Churchill kissed passionately while professing love for each other.
Be it as it may, Tonto Dikeh stumbled upon the video and subsequently took to Gistlovers comment section to clear the air.
She kicked against spreading false narratives, noting that the man she hugged was actually Churchill’s uncle and not her ex-husband.
Tonto Dikeh noted that the misleading narrative is disrespectful to both the man and herself.
Reacting to the AI-generated clip, Tonto Dikeh wrote:
She wrote:
“He is Churchill’s uncle and by extension, my uncle as well. My son was born in his home, under his care and protection. His wife, Aunty Vivian, was the one who took me to the hospital when I went into labor.
They opened their home to me for six months. In a country as demanding as America, they made sure my baby and I were cared for feeding us, clothing us, and giving us a safe roof over our heads. They did this out of love, with no hesitation.
Please, Oremi, this narrative is deeply disrespectful to him, to me, and to our families. I would appreciate more thoughtfulness and sensitivity moving forward please.”
