Ichor Joshua, a water specialist and entrepreneur who once worked closely with American missionary Alex Barbir in Nigeria, has shared a troubling experience from the time they travelled together.
Barbir, known for his active humanitarian efforts in Nigeria’s Middle Belt, has recently faced criticism from some Nigerians over his outspoken views on the administration of President Bola Tinubu, particularly regarding ongoing terrorist attacks and herdsmen violence in the northern region.
In a now-deleted Facebook post on Sunday, April 5, Joshua shared photos of himself with Barbir and recounted what he noticed during the period he drove him around. According to him, his vehicle appeared to be under surveillance.
He claimed that while he was with Barbir, his SUV was consistently tailed by unfamiliar cars. More concerning, he said the same pattern continued even after he was no longer in the missionary’s company.
Joshua stated that there are forces trying to suppress the truth in the country, though he insisted such efforts would ultimately fail.
In his words:
“For the short time I moved with and drove Mr Barbir in Nigeria, my SUV was constantly followed by strange cars even when I was no longer with him.
Evil is working so hard in Nigeria to silence the truth and keep the faithful under bondage, unfortunately truth can never be hidden under the sun.
Neither are we people you can easily kill (rooted and bathed in the word of the spirit). Until bravery stares this evil in the face and challenges it, we may be very far from a solution.”
