Nollywood actor and movie producer, Tobi Makinde has addressed speculations suggesting he is in conflict with his senior colleague, Funke Akindele.
The rumours gained traction months ago after a viral video showed both actors seemingly ignoring each other at a public event, sparking conversations online about a possible fallout.
Their relationship had previously drawn attention, especially due to Makinde’s role in Jenifa’s Diary and during the period of the reported clash between Mercy Aigbe and Akindele.
In an interview with BBC Pidgin, Makinde dismissed the rumours, explaining that social media often creates misleading narratives.
He referred to Akindele respectfully as “madam” and emphasized that their relationship began on social media and would not end there.
He further noted that relationships evolve over time, and although they may appear distant at certain stages, Akindele remains a significant figure in his journey in the film industry.
Speaking about his career, Makinde revealed that his father introduced him to acting at the age of seven through movie producer Tuji Bamishigin.
He also opened up about the challenges actors face, particularly the frustration of attending auditions without getting callbacks, despite promises from producers.
